The 2025 New Tile Dedication Ceremony at the Midcoast Area Veterans Memorial will be held Sunday, July 13, 2025.

Once again the Winslow-Holbrook-Merritt American Legion Post Number 1 of Rockland welcomes everyone to this humble ceremony to be held at the site of the Memorial. Post 1 is located at 335 Limerock Street in Rockland and the Memorial Wall is located just beyond the Post parking lot.

Lead-in music, provided by the Bay Winds North music ensemble under the direction of Marlene Hall, will commence at 1245 (12:45 p.m.).

"Bay Winds North will be playing a wonderful selection of patriotic music at different points throughout the ceremony," said David Sulin. 

The ceremony will commence at 1300 (1 p.m.). As a special treat for everyone's enjoyment, two Stearman biplanes from the Owls Head Transportation Museum will salute our area veterans with a flyover scheduled for 1300 (1 p.m.) to kick off the event.

Eight new tiles will be dedicated at this ceremony, joining the many other area veterans whose tiles were dedicated in previous years.  The Memorial Wall honors our friends, family and neighbors who stepped forward and answered their country's call to serve.  

"Please take some time out of your busy schedules to join us at our beautiful Memorial and honor this years honorees and their families and also honor those fine citizens of the area whose tiles already adorn the Memorial," said Sulin.

As seating is somewhat limited, please bring a folding chair for your comfort.
